A Little Perspective

Hello All!

As many of you know, I have been a wee bit stressed out lately between work, family responsibilities and all of the house projects I have on my to-do list.  But, for five days I was fortunate enough to get away to a slice of paradise with some of my dearest friends, as we all celebrate the big 4-0(MG) this year.

Oh. my. goodness.  It never ceases to amaze me how a little time away with girlfriends recharges my batteries, rejuvenates my soul and gives you a bit of perspective.

And an atmosphere like this, certainly doesn't hurt either.

So, that's why I've been quiet here.  I was a crazy woman trying to get ready, but man-oh-man, it was worth it.

A few things I learned:
  • Wearing a swimsuit and maxi dresses for most of your vacation will pretty much guarantee that your regular clothes will be a bit snug upon your return.  (Especially if you stay at an all-inclusive resort)

  • Transitioning from Island Time back to Real-Life Time is like re-entering the atmosphere from outer space.

  • It's easy to get used to breakfast buffets and piña coladas on-demand.

  • Coming home to a room full of laundry, and clothes that have been in the washing machine since you left, isn't nearly as annoying as it would be under normal circumstances.  (Although I should mention that the rest of the house was amazingly clean!)

But most importantly, you really appreciate your family (and vice versa).
