Unfinished Project Explosion

Do you ever feel like you are just going, going, going - non-stop, only to get up and do it all again the next day?  That is the cycle I'm in right now.  Another spinning plates type scenario.

I have projects everywhere, partially finished, but not intentionally so.  I bought more paint to (finally) finish my family room after my mistint mishap, only to discover that my latest and greatest gallon of paint is still. NOT. RIGHT.  To say that I'm frustrated would be an understatement.  It's not as bad as the previous mistint, but it's still wrong!  So, that stands here:
On the positive side, the latest gallon I got appears to match.  Although I'm not looking forward to cutting in at the ceiling above the stairs.  Again.  At least we bought a legitimate extension ladder, so I won't be jury rigging my paint job like I did the first time.

I did some back breaking work with the fam this weekend in the yard.  Pulling weeds, sweating and feeling like an ant under a magnifying glass.  And what do I have to show for it?

But at least it's better than this, right?

And see the beautiful edging I have been slaving over?

Did I just show you a picture of grass and dirt?

Nevermind that the work in the backyard had to be cut short because wasps kept chasing me.  As I was running toward the house like a lunatic, my son yelled, "It's on your hat!"   So, I stopped working after that.  A girl has to draw the line somewhere.

Then there is the board and batten stairway project that should be renamed Moulding for Morons because for the life of me, we could not figure out the angles and how to do it!  I admit it - there you go.  We are educated people, but were mystified when it comes to how to cut the boards for this. I mean look at the angles here.  Nightmare.

Feel free to send me your tips and tricks.  I'm all ears.  So, here is that space...

My office is in the semi-finished stage as well.  For the longest time, it's been sitting like this:

The walls are painted (although I'm not showing you yet), and I plan on doing a cool stencil on it, but have run out of time and/or energy lately.  I have been operating in Crazy Mom Mode between work, the kids' activities, laundry, maintaining some semblance of order in my home, etc.., and am lucky if I can feed my family in the middle of it all, let alone finish a project.

Did I mention we're having friends over on Friday night?  And they've never seen the new house?   And that I'm running kids all over town until about, um, 8:30 tonight?  I'm hoping an adrenaline rush will kick (like it usually does before people come over), and I'll get my house looking like my kids actually pick up after themselves halfway presentable.
